Uti Nwachukwu continues his inspiring tradition of giving the less privileged a lot of reason to smile.
On Wednesday 17th December 2014, the actor/TV host held the 4th edition of his charity event tagged “Uti Leads the Stars“. It was held at the Calabar Hall, Surulere, Lagos.
The event is organized to celebrate and bring cheers to widows, orphans, the visually-impaired and blind, down syndrome individuals and students from low privileged communities.
It was the largest gathering in the history of the charity event, with over 500 people in attendance. The guests were treated with lots of yummy bites and refreshing drinks. They also took home gifts, ranging from school supplies, to foodstuffs.
The event was hosted by comedienne Chigul and Dr Ayotunde Alao was the co-anchor. Everyone at the arena was entertained by Seyi Shay, Saeon, Flavour, Dezign and New Age.
Celebs and socialites also spotted at the event were Vimbai Mutinhiri, Kenneth Okolie, Melvin Oduah, Linda Ejiofor, Peggy Ovire, Emmanuel Ikubese, Michael Nwachukwu, Yolanda Okereke. Uti is grateful to all of them and his fan club for their generosity towards the planning of the event.
Speaking on the event, Uti said, “I’m truly in awe! I never expected it to be this Big! All along we (me and the fan club) kept saying this year would be bigger and we wanted to touch more Lives. To stand here today and see all these happening just warms my heart. To hear the widows and blind and needy pray for us and bless us for our good deeds is priceless! This is why I always say people should grab the opportunity to care for the needy.”
Uti also expressed gratitude to Prof and Dr Awotedu, Ubong King of Protection Plus Security, Karo Ekewenu, Leslie Williams, the Bawas, the Henshaws, the Babcock Alumni, Kwasu Enactus, Dr Nwachukwu, Onah Nwachukwu, Ommemma Emmanuel Okwudili, Pascal Gracious Oil Ltd, Ojukwu Chika, Chinyere Vivian, Atamah A. Pepple and Alex Kothor.
