Once a year, this arid stone-scape bursts into life with sweeping fields of Scorpion Weed, Beeplant at the flowers of the Pincushion Cacti. Swathes of yellow and the distinctive purple of the Scorpion Weed battle with the grey and brown tones of the earth and rock. Indicative of the harsh quality of The Badlands, despite being an attractive bloom, the flower of the Scorpion Weed will leave a nasty stinging rash if touched.
Plants seek to conserve as much water as possible, thus they bloom and reproduce very quickly. But the same transience of such spectacle turns it into a jaw-dropping experience.
